WORLD HARVEST CLOSURE REPORT

 

Living the dream of the 2010 World Harvest has changed all our lives forever.

What an awesome journey this has been!! We have seen the faithfulness of our Lord, and experienced the richness of His grace!!

Thanks to everyone who were part of this journey. Your contributions in time, resources and energy will never be forgotten.

2010 World Harvest List of accomplishments:

 

  • Setting up a project Steering comity to oversee the 2010 World Harvest project.
  • Facilitating 88 Short Term Missionaries during the 2010 World Cup in 11 cities
  • Focussed Team Leadership Training (FTLT) provided team leaders that led the outreach teams
  • Hosting International missionaries including countries such as the USA, Germany, Brazil,
    Madagascar, Congo, Mozambique etc.
  • Training 100 people in Kids Games & Ubabalo
  • Hosting 2 meetings for the TUG National Executive
  • Hosting 1 meeting for the Sascol Board of Directors
  • More than 400 hours of prayer
  • Raising R300 000 ($40 000) for Outreach
  • Donating R30 000 to TUG initiative
  • Numerous new commitments to Christ
  • Distributing 10000 Christian booklets
  • Developing a great website, i.e. www.2010worldharvest.co.za & TUG Database
  • Ministering to the Mayor of Klerksdorp
  • Facilitating the release of 2 new fulltime LCF missionaries in Mozambique
  • Facilitating a 2 week KidsGames program in Vanderbijlpark with 43 volunteers from different churches
    Approximately 110 kids attended with numerous kids that have chosen Jesus as their Saviour.
  • Writing 1 of the 3 chosen TUG songs to be used nationally at big screen and outreach events.
  • Specific Outreaches to the National teams from Switzerland and the Ivory Coast
  • Hosting a Prayer Concert with Dr Chris Lodewyk, Rev Cassie Carstens, Joseph Jacobs & Pieter
    Mcarthy.
  • Hosting Dr Aaron Tredway and distributing his book “To Who” in the Vaal Triangle
  • Making numerous new Friends and long term networking partners
  • Gaining invaluable experience and increasing our capacity tremendously
  • A Big bag full of plans & Faith for the future

Concept


We aim to mobilise 500 volunteers to work with the local church in South Africa.  Your mission will be to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the nations that will be visiting South Africa in 2010.

Purpose of the project



  • Uniting the church of Jesus Christ during one of the biggest events in the world
  • Win people of all nations for Jesus Christ in one geographical location.
  • Develop networks and closer interaction between churches, communities and organizations over geographical boundaries.
  • Strengthen the local and global church through engagement and collaboration.
